Daily Poem

March 2, 2010

There was a mess of flashing lights

And three lanes of debris

I saw where the cars landed

And tried to reconstruct the collision

With the scale miniature models

I keep in my head

I played with them like hot wheels cars

—It’s all about the angles.

I worried about the children

I worried about the driver

But I mostly worried about the

Ten to fifteen minutes

The delay would add to my commute.
